FAQs

How does Tan-Go work as a tan removal body scrub, and is it removing the actual tan or just surface-level dead skin?

This is an important distinction. A tan is essentially UV-induced melanin that has been deposited in the deeper layers of the epidermis it can't be "removed" in one scrub session the way dirt can. What a de-tan body scrub like Tan-Go does is accelerate the natural skin cell turnover process, bringing the tanned, melanin-rich cells to the surface faster and sloughing them away more efficiently than your skin would do on its own. At the same time, the botanical brightening ingredients in Tan-Go work to suppress the continued overproduction of melanin in the treated areas, so new skin that surfaces is lighter and more even-toned. Used consistently 2–3 times a week after sun exposure, it meaningfully speeds up the fading of a tan and prevents it from becoming deeply set.

What role do rose petals play in a de-tan body scrub, and why is a rose petal body scrub particularly well-suited for post-sun skin?

Rose petals bring several complementary benefits to a tan removal scrub. First, they are a natural source of vitamin C and antioxidants that help neutralise the free radical damage caused by UV exposure damage that persists in the skin even after you've stepped out of the sun. Second, rose has well-documented anti-inflammatory properties that soothe the heat, redness, and tightness that often accompany sun-exposed skin. Third, the mild astringent quality of rose helps tighten and refine pores that can become enlarged and congested after prolonged sun and sweat exposure. In Tan-Go, the rose petal body scrub element adds this layer of repair and soothing on top of the exfoliation, making it far more holistic than a scrub that only strips the skin without addressing the underlying sun damage.

Can Tan-Go be considered the best body scrub for women dealing with uneven tan lines and patchy skin tone from outdoor activities?

Tan lines and patchy tanning are particularly common concerns for women who spend time outdoors whether exercising, swimming, or simply commuting in summer. The patchiness comes from uneven UV exposure across the body combined with skin that naturally tans differently across different zones (shoulders and forearms tend to darken faster than the stomach or inner arms, for example). Tan-Go is particularly effective at addressing this unevenness because it works across the whole body you can focus longer on the most affected areas while using it more lightly elsewhere to gradually even out the contrast. Pair it with a moisturiser after each session, as well-hydrated skin not only recovers from sun exposure faster but also tans more evenly in the first place.

How should Tan-Go be used immediately after a beach or outdoor day for the best de-tanning results?

The window of opportunity for slowing a tan from setting is within the first 24–48 hours of sun exposure. Immediately after a day outdoors, prioritise cooling and soothing the skin first a cool (not cold) shower and a light, hydrating lotion or aloe vera gel. Avoid using the scrub while skin is still visibly flushed or warm from the sun, as exfoliating heat-stressed skin can cause irritation. Once the skin has settled typically the evening of or the morning after sun exposure use Tan-Go as a de-tan body scrub in the shower, focusing on the most exposed areas. Consistent use over the following week, 2–3 times, will noticeably accelerate the fading process compared to leaving the skin to recover on its own.

Is Tan-Go safe to use on the face for tan removal, and are there any precautions to keep in mind when using it on delicate areas like the neck and décolletage?

Tan-Go is formulated for body use, and using it directly on the face where the skin is significantly thinner and more reactive is not recommended. For facial tan removal, a separate face-specific product is always the safer choice. However, the neck and décolletage sit in an interesting middle ground the skin there is thinner and more prone to sensitivity than the body but is exposed to as much sun as the face. For these areas, apply Tan-Go with a very light hand and reduce frequency to once a week. Rinse thoroughly and follow with a hydrating moisturiser immediately. If you notice any redness or tightness, reduce frequency further. These areas also benefit greatly from SPF application daily, as they are among the first to show signs of sun-induced ageing and pigmentation.
